Accepted Forms of Payment

Goods and Services Tax – GST

As an Australia-based reseller, MediFAST is required to charge GST where applicable. Nearly all products on MediFAST’s sites must have GST included, but some products are exempt.

In any case the amount of tax charged will appear with the price, and is totaled in the checkout procedure.

When you place your order you will receive a confirmation that will include an appropriate Tax Invoice, indicating the taxable items and the appropriate tax amount. You will not receive a second Tax Invoice with the physical goods so you should keep the confirmation email.

Shipping Information

Delivery Countries

We only ship to Australian addresses. Please contact our office for international deliveries.

Delivery Method

All orders where possible are sent by Australia Post eParcel system and can be tracked throughout the delivery process. Please contact our office to receive your order tracking details if you did not receive an automatic email with them. If you are not at the specified address to accept delivery your order will be taken to the nearest post office and a note left in your letterbox. You can provide written permission to leave the goods unattended at your front door, however please bear in mind that this will void your insurance cover. We can deliver to PO Boxes in most cases except for large bulky items.

Delivery Costs

The standard delivery fee starts from $25.00 for regular courier delivery in Australia. For orders that are bulky or going to a remote address, then we may need to charge extra for freight.

Bulky Orders/Remote Destinations

Some orders that are large size or extra heavy may result in an extra shipping cost. Also some orders to remote destinations may also be charged extra for shipping. In these cases we will notify you with the extra costs before dispatch.

Free Delivery

All orders that have a subtotal of $350 or more receive free delivery to Australian addresses only. Some extra large items or bulk orders will be subject to an extra delivery/freight cost.

Express Delivery

Express delivery is available for certain destinations within the Australia Post Express network if stock is available. Orders need to be placed before 1pm AEST and costs start from $25.00 (Bulky items or remote locations will cost more). Please contact our office for an express delivery quote.

Credit Card Security

Our shopping cart pages use full 256-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) transaction encryption to ensure all our customer’s personal details are safe and secure. You can see that our checkout pages are secure by checking for a padlock icon on the status bar (must be enabled) of your browser. Our online transactions are handled by Geotrust who are externally audited each year to ensure we are Tier 1 PCI-DSS compliant, the highest level of compliance mandated by the major credit card schemes. Coupons

From time to time MediFAST may issue an online coupon instead of a refund. If you have an online coupon, make sure to read the exclusions and instructions carefully. Please pay careful attention to the offer’s start and end dates.

Price Match

We will happily match any valid offer from another Australian online retailer if it is cheaper than one advertised on our website (including delivery). Just email us with the offer that you have seen including the URL, Price and Date and we will get in touch with you.

Order Status

Pending – Order made but payment not received yet.
Paid – Order made, payment received and processed.
Shipped – Order has been dispatched for delivery to customer.

12 Month Warranty

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Health Fund Rebates

You may be eligible for a rebate from your health fund if you present your invoice with product details. It depends on your health fund, level of cover and the product ordered.

Terms and Conditions, Returns and Refund Policy

We abide by the Consumer Guarantees, Warranties and Refunds policy of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
MediFAST offers a 12 month warranty against defects on all products. This warranty is in addition to other rights and remedies you may have under law.
If you wish to make a warranty claim please contact us by phone, email or surface mail.
If you have a problem with your order we require you to contact us within 7 days of receipt of the order.

Returns and Refunds

You are entitled to return goods and ask for a refund, exchange or repair if the goods you purchased meet the following criteria:

MediFAST will exchange or refund a product that meets the above return and refund requirements. You are required to return the product in its original condition, preferably in its box undamaged, together with proof of purchase. Defective products will be either repaired or replaced with the original product purchased, however if this is not able to be done a full refund will be provided.

MediFAST will pay the freight for the return of products and also for the resupply of products where applicable.

MediFAST will also agree to exchange products where the customer has ordered the incorrect size or type providing the customer pays the return and resupply freight costs. Where a different product is resupplied there may be a cost adjustment.

You are not entitled to a refund when you:

You are entitled to return goods and ask for a refund, exchange or repair if the goods you purchased meet the following criteria:

MediFAST reserves the right to charge a 20% restocking fee if the goods are returned without the original box, have clear signs of use or without the original product packaging and accessories.
In these cases the Customer is required to pay the return freight to MediFAST.

Courses and First Aid Training Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions apply to the delivery of any training by MediFAST:

Application

Where relevant, these Course Terms and Conditions must be read in conjunction with any applicable Training Agreement, and MediFAST’s Payment Terms and Conditions.

Fees and refunds

Unless a Training Agreement applies, participants must pay all course fees in full prior to the commencement of the course, to secure a place in a course conducted by MediFAST. Refunds will only be paid in the manner set out in these Course Terms and Conditions

Bookings

General

MediFAST will give preference to participants who book and pay in full online or via phone and by credit card.
Participants who select EFT, cheque or money order as the payment method for course fees will be placed on a waiting list until their payment has been processed and received as clear funds. Placements in courses are allocated in accordance with the order in which payments are received in full.
MediFAST will endeavour to place participants in their chosen course, but MediFAST accepts no liability for any loss, cost, damage or inconvenience which may directly or indirectly result from a participant being unable to be placed in their chosen course. MediFAST reserves the right to cancel bookings if not paid for in full within 48 hours of the booking being made.

Group Bookings

MediFAST may issue an invoice when a group booking is made and requires payment in full at least 14 days prior to course commencement date (unless a Training Agreement applies) Where MediFAST has provided course fees details/quotation based on a number of participants given by a group organiser, MediFAST’s invoice will be based on that number of participants, with the invoice being payable at least 14 days prior to course commencement (unless a Training Agreement applies).
The group organiser must notify MediFAST (at least 21 days prior to course commencement) of the number of participants or any changes to the number of participants. MediFAST may issue a supplementary invoice for any additional participants, but is not obliged to reduce its fee if there are fewer participants than originally quoted. In the event that the group organiser does not notify MediFAST of the number of participants or any changes to the number of participants at least 21 days prior to the course commencement date, MediFAST will issue an invoice based on the originally quoted number of participants or, for fees of no less than $1100.00 If the group organiser advises MediFAST at least 21 days prior to course commencement date that there will be fewer participants than invoiced, MediFAST may attempt to place the non-attendees in a public course closest to the location of the group course.
The group organiser must supply MediFAST with a list of all participant names at least 21 days prior to course commencement. A fee of a not less than of $350.00 will be incurred if the course is cancelled or rescheduled by the group organiser within 21 days of the scheduled course commencement.
A fee of not less than $1100.00 will be incurred if the course is cancelled or rescheduled by the group organiser within 7 days of the scheduled course commencement date.

Withdrawal

MediFAST will issue a full refund if written advice is received a minimum of 7 days prior to course commencement.
It is regrettable that no refund can be made for withdrawals received less than 7 days prior to course commencement.
Should you be unable to attend, a substitute participant is welcome at no extra charge, please advise our customer service team.
Refunds will be issued within 14 days of receiving a written refund request. Bookings paid by credit card will be refunded to the same credit card. All other refunds will be paid by cheque.
MediFAST will not refund any course fees:
if a refund request is not received within the time set out in clause 4.1 and 4.2;
if the participant commences the course; or after a course transfer.

Course transfers

MediFAST will be pleased to transfer your booking to another date at no cost when we are advised at least 7 days prior to course commencement. Only 1 (one) free transfer is applicable, any subsequent transfers will incur a 100% of the course fee as a course transfer fee.
A transfer fee equal to 50% of the course fee will apply to transfer your booking if notice is given less than 7 days prior to course commencement any subsequent transfers will incur a 100% of the course fee as a course transfer fee. This transfer fee is inclusive of GST
Please be aware that you are unable to transfer your booking on the day of the course.
No certificates or Statements of Attainment will be issued until all course fees and transfer fees are paid in full.
No refunds will be issued after course transfers.

Non-attendance

General Participants

deemed a “no show”, will not be assessed and will not be entitled to a refund unless that person contacts MediFAST and supplies a medical certificate within 24 hours of the scheduled course commencement.

Practical components Participants

practical component/assessment will be deemed a “no show”, will not be assessed and will not be entitled to a refund unless that person contacts MediFAST and supplies a medical certificate within 24 hours of the scheduled course commencement. Participants who fail to attend their scheduled course on time (30 minutes or more) will not be assessed and will not be entitled to a refund

Non-completion

If a participant does not complete or is deemed Not Yet Competent during a practical component:
MediFAST will attempt to transfer the participant into a different scheduling of the same course (no fee will apply); but MediFAST will retain 50% of the course fee if the participant cannot be transferred, and refund the balance.
If the participant is transferred and is unable to attend the alternate scheduled practical component, MediFAST will not refund any part of the course fee.

Cancellations

MediFAST will endeavour not to cancel public courses. However, MediFAST reserves the right to cancel courses or change course dates if necessary.
If MediFAST cancels a course:
MediFAST will refund (in full) those participants who request a refund, within 14 days of the scheduled course commencement; or MediFAST will permit participants to transfer to another schedule of the same course without charge.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

DO I HAVE TO PAY BEFORE THE COURSE

You are not fully booked on a course until payment has been received

Many people unfortunately say they will pay on the day. Then not turning up which means that we may have refused someone else that position . If you cannot pay online we offer over the phone EFTPOS.

WHAT IF I DO NOT WANT TO DO THE PRE COURSE STUDY

The pre course study is actually the easy option 

In the comfort of your own home or office the normal time frame is about 1 hour. If you do not complete the pre course study you are welcome to attend the course. After the participants who have completed the pre course study leave . Please stay behind and we will organise a 95 Question multiple choice . This normally takes about 1.5 hours. It is important to get 100% or you can return another day for a second attempt . If you have Learning difficulties which you must disclose prior to the course to us

On the AVETMISS questionnaire . In this instance we will arrange Post Course . To complete a verbal assessment task with you allow about 1.5 hours

On successful completion of the course

The RTO Co Provider does NOT guarantee that: A learner will successfully complete a training product on its scope of registration, or A training course can be completed in a manner which does not meet the requirements of Clause 1.1 and 1.2, or A learner will obtain a particular employment outcome where this is outside the control of the RTO

DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE THE USI AND AVETMISS

Yes unfortunately these are government departments. If you do not participate unfortunately you cannot do a course . If you need a USI or you have forgotten yours you will have to visit their website . If you have changed your name or some of your contact details. Again you may have to go to their website AVETMISS is another data gathering Organisation of the Government. We cannot assist with either of these mandates . You need to apply online. In Australia you cannot Enrol in Adult Education . Unless you have completed both of these government imposed mandatories.

WHAT IF I HAVE LLN ISSUES

PLEASE ensure you notify prior to the course 

There is actually very little writing etc in the course but reading may be important for the courses . If you have difficulties it is your responsibility to bring along a person to assist you . We can offer to verbally deliver the exams in preference to the powerpoint or written but this may incur an extra fee for the Instructors overtime. In addition if you have LLN difficulties. Then we can offer you a Verbal assessment task after the course completion on the day.

WHAT DO I BRING ON THE DAY ?

PLEASE be at least 15 minutes early

Bring along a screen shot of, Your confirmation of payment. Certificate of completion if relevant. For the EXPRESS bring along a copy of an old certificate . It is important that you are attired to do practical training such as kneeling, bandaging and CPR. It is quite a busy day with two very short breaks bring along some food if you wish.

WHEN DO I RECEIVE MY CERTIFICATION

The criteria for being issued certification Includes :

Full Payment of the Course fees by yourself or the third party . Fully Completed Paperwork signed filled in fully and completely. Deemed Competent by the Instructor. Once this has been met , we normally issue the certificate on the day that is sent to the email  address you have supplied.

DO I HAVE TO BE ABLE TO KNEEL AND DO CPR ON THE FLOOR

There is a government department that states

If you cannot get on the floor and do two minutes of CPR, we cannot deem you competent as per ASQA. We will do everything possible to assist you, including offering you a chair and a pillow etc. It is your decision, we will only request you do the minimum of 2 minutes,then the rest can be completed on a table.
